Overcoming Trauma Through Yoga:

OG Yoga Teacher Training Programs & Workshops

Ready to deepen your practice, enrich your professional skills, and learn to teach with genuine compassion and inclusivity? We will offer two training programs concurrently in 2026, both focused on trauma and diversity-informed principles.

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training School

Whether you have a desire to teach yoga, bring more awareness to your current field, or deepen your own healing practices, we have a space for you. Upon completion and demonstration of skill competency, you will receive a certification that will enable you to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

30-Hour Continuing Yoga Education Workshop

A great teacher never stops being a student. All registered yoga teachers (RYTs) must complete 30 hours of Continuing Education every three years. Our 30-hour Yoga Alliance accredited workshop titled "Overcoming Trauma Through Yoga" is open to all certified yoga instructors and explores the nature and prevalence of trauma, how the tools of yoga allow us to heal, and how to self-regulate through life’s many challenges.

ADDITIONAL SERVICE YOGA WORKSHOPS

Service yoga is a type of trauma-informed, diversity-informed, and mindfulness-based yoga that is tailored to meet the particular needs of the communities served. OG Yoga brings service yoga to a diverse mix of populations– from incarcerated individuals, to low-income families, to senior citizens. Techniques specific to the effectiveness of service yoga include different terminology, asana modification and adjustment policies. Our Service Yoga workshops are open to anyone who is interested in taking a deeper look into what service yoga is and how it is performed.

WHAT IS SERVICE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING?

San Diego nonprofit OG Yoga hosted a two-day “What Is Service Yoga 2.0” workshop to provide participants with an overview of service yoga, helping them understand the importance of trauma-informed yoga training. They learned what makes service yoga different– from how the yoga room is set up, to use of terminology, and pose adjustments. Learn more in this video below.
