OG YOGA INSTRUCTORS > STEVE VIGIL

Steve Vigil

I'm originally from Colorado and have been blessed to live in many places in the U.S. and around the world. I was first introduced to yoga by my mother and I have been practicing yoga for twenty years now. I initially enjoyed the physical benefits and since have been drawn to the healing that can come from practicing. I'm a former UN Peacekeeper (civilian) and have been involved in peacebuilding and conflict mitigation most of my life. A few years back my work caught up to me, I was physically, mentally and spiritually drained. Yoga became an important part of my healing journey and a way to make it through the day. I know what yoga has done for me and I would like to share it with others.

Words I live by…

Every new day is a blessing.

What inspires me…

The younger generation of my family, future generations and being a good ancestor.

Outside of the studio…

In addition to practicing yoga I love to swim in the ocean, ride bicycles, explore the backcountry of San Diego and look for used vinyl LP's to add to my collection.

What is the title of your class?

Breathe.

What is the title and description of your class?

My class is called “Breathe.” It focusses on working towards creating space for oneself when there seems to be no space to be had.
