Niyati Kadakia

I am a yoga teacher, scientist, author, dancer and mother to my twin daughters. I am a scientist by academic training and over the past 15 years have explored biology with respect to aging, metabolism and cancer and am fascinated by the effects of environment and psychology on physiology. I am a passionate integrative and trauma informed yoga teacher and I blend pranayama, neurophysiology and meditation, so that we can lead a graceful life. I am a novice poet and create poetry that resonates with the resilience of the human soul, as it moves through life, love, loss. And lastly I am the founder of KidzBelong inst, which promotes a re-definition of the immigrant identity and I speak often about the challenges and opportunities of immigrant women. I have a BS in Biochemical Engineering from USC, BA in Literature from Scripps college, MA in Biotechnology from Columbia University. I am a certified RYT-200 Trauma informed Yoga instructor and have a certificate for Yoga Physiology from NYU.

Words I live by…

May we all be Instruments of Peace.

What inspires me…

Creating beauty, through words, art, movement, love, hope and connection inspires me.

Outside of the studio…

I currently lead Operations for a biotech startup that is working hard to alleviate hearing loss. So it's very possible, that when I'm not doing yoga, I'm at my desk in a zoom meeting. Otherwise, you'll find me cooking, gardening, running or checking homework and folding laundry.
