WHAT IS SERVICE YOGA WORKSHOP

  • Jacobs Center 404 Euclid Avenue San Diego, CA, 92114 United States (map)

The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.

― T.K.V. Desikachar

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

In this workshop you will learn the qualities yoga teachers need to cultivate in order to work effectively with traumatized students. Yoga is part of an ancient system meant precisely to address human suffering – and particularly to address it in the body, where it lives. Facilitated by JoAnn Jaffe, OG Yoga Founder and Bill Brown, Prison Yoga Project San Diego Director/OG Advisory Council and 200-hour E-RYT.

We love yoga. We’ve had powerful healing experiences. We want to share that healing with the world. We proceed with the best of intentions and, yet, we may leave those we hope to help feeling disempowered and marginalized. How can we truly help?

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS TRAINING

Both certified yoga instructors as well as those thinking about yoga teacher training certification. This workshop is a precursor to OG Yoga’s Service Yoga Teacher Training School (SYTTS) currently in development for 2018.
